Same Day Smile Repair with CEREC® in Jonesboro

CEREC Advanced TechnologyTraditional dental restorations using gold, porcelain bonded to metal, or ceramic required patients to visit Dr. Yarnell's dental practice at least two times over the course of several weeks. During the first visit, patients’ teeth would be prepared to receive a dental crown, bridge, or other restorative treatment and a temporary restoration would be placed. Once the custom solution was completed, patients would return to the office to exchange a temporary for their custom restoration. At Woodsprings Family Dentistry, we’re proud to offer a fast, effective solution – CEREC® same-day restorations. Using the CEREC® system, we’re able to complete the entire process from start to finish in a single appointment. Contact our dedicated team to find out more or schedule an appointment today.

What is CEREC®?

CEREC® stands for chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics, and it is an in-office computer assisted design and manufacture (CAD/CAM) system that makes it possible for our dentist and team to complete the full dental restoration process in a single visit designing, crafting, and placing even extensive restorations in just one appointment.

How does CEREC® Work?

CEREC® uses the same treatment necessary to design and place traditional crowns, inlays, onlays, and other restorations, but rather than relying on a dental lab to craft a custom restoration, we’re able to use a chairside milling unit to produce a custom, all-ceramic restoration in a single appointment. Patients should plan to spend two to three hours in our practice, but there is no need for follow-up appointments, saving patients significant time over the course of treatment.  We start by removing damaged or decayed dental structure to prepare the tooth to receive the restoration. We then use the CEREC® system to capture precise digital impressions that are immediately transferred to the chairside milling unit, where a single block of resin, ceramic, or zirconia is crafted to the specifications of the digital impressions. Once the restoration is complete, we place the final solution on the same day.
