Dr. Sarah Phillips Yarnell has over seven years’ experience in dentistry. She is passionate about helping patients enjoy optimal oral health, and she says her two favorite aspects of being a dentist are working with her hands and being able to help nervous patients feel calm in the dental chair. Dr. Yarnell also especially enjoys the challenge of complex cases. Originally from Lake City, AR, Dr. Yarnell attended Lyon College in Batesville, AR before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee. She is trained in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and she is also a Master of the College of Sedation Dentistry. Dr. Yarnell frequently engages in continuing education courses to ensure she is able to offer her patients the very best dental care.
Outside of dentistry, you can find Dr. Yarnell either at the beach or thinking about being at the beach, where she feels happiest. Dr. Yarnell knows dentistry can be a relaxing experience for patients who suffer from nerves or anxiety, and sedation helps. She is specially trained in no-fear sedation dentistry, which is the use of safe and effective medication to help you relax your way through any dental procedure. Dr. Yarnell is a Master in the College of Sedation Dentistry, a special distinction that sets her apart from other dental practices offering sedation. You can choose from nitrous oxide (AKA laughing gas), oral conscious sedation, and even intravenous sedation for maximum relaxation. The method that is right for you depends on how nervous you are about your procedure, what is being performed, as well as Dr. Yarnell’s expert assessment of your sedation needs.
Finding a great fit for your denture after significant tooth loss requires visiting a restorative dentist who really knows what they are doing -- like Dr. Yarnell. Ill-fitting dentures will slip and slide around until you either find a solution or finally get so frustrated you stop wearing them altogether. Dr. Yarnell has focused much of her experience and practice on rebuilding smiles with full and partial dentures, and she uses only the most high-quality acrylic and ceramic. This helps to ensure that the denture looks great and will last as long as possible with proper care.
One-visit dentistry is transforming the way restorative dental care is performed. With the help of CEREC, or chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics, Dr. Yarnell can plan for, prepare, and place a dental crown or other restoration in a single visit to our office. This technological expertise and ability is especially helpful for patients who are experiencing a dental emergency, like a toothache, abscess, or broken tooth, as you can visit our office and have your tooth beautifully restored on the very same day. Dental crowns prepared with CEREC look and feel just like your natural tooth -- and they can last for many years with proper care!
